BRG Group Hanoi Junior Golf Tour 2014 - Round One

Despite some very wet weather the first round of the BRG GROUP HANOI JUNIOR GOLF TOUR 2104 was held at the award winning Doson Seaside Golf Resort close to Hai Phong in northern Vietnam. Close to 30 juniors from age 6 upwards made the journey from Hanoi to the seaside golf resort.

Even with the unfriendly skies overhead and intermittent rain the juniors produced some stunning golf on the Par 72 - 6,800 yard complex, which is part of the BRG Group of companies. The winning scores ranged from 7 under par net showing the high standard in the older age group.

The competition was the first round of the Junior Golf Tour for 2014 taking in some of the top golf courses in Hanoi and district, including Kings’ Island Golf Resort, over a minimum of 6 rounds. The Champion golfer will be the boy or girl who wins the most points throughout the series of events.

Doson Seaside Golf Resort’s Director of golf Evans Mahoney commented “It’s great to see so many keen and talented young golfers – it’s a good sign for golf and sport in general in Vietnam. With golf back in the Olympics we’re sure the younger generation in Vietnam will see golf as a way to enjoy a great way to exercise and have fun and possibly represent their country in the next few years. We’re proud to be chosen to host the opening round of this series”
