Greening Vast Areas While Strengthening Local Livelihoods

Under the leadership of Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Nga, BRG Group has consistently placed environmental stewardship and social responsibility on an equal footing with economic growth. Its afforestation efforts are closely intertwined with ecosystem restoration and livelihood development, driving sustainable change for communities in regions vulnerable to natural disasters, areas where forest cover has degraded and local livelihoods remain fragile.

In the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi, BRG Group partnered with Nhan Dan Newspaper to plant 68,000 cinnamon trees in Lang Nu and other areas devastated by flash floods in Bac Ha and Bao Yen districts of Lao Cai Province. Meanwhile, in Ha Tinh, one of the provinces most frequently hit by storms, nearly 230,000 forestry trees have been replanted following successive typhoons, helping restore productive forest areas and gradually rebuilding the livelihoods of local residents.

Spanning provinces from Lao Cai, Thanh Hoa, and Ha Tinh to Dak Lak and Long An, BRG’s tree‑planting and donation programs follow a consistent principle: every initiative is tailored to the local ecological conditions and livelihood needs, developed in close coordination with local authorities and partner organizations.

This approach reflects a broader vision of sustainable development, one in which trees are planted not only to reclaim barren land, but to serve as the foundation for a stable, forest‑based economic cycle. By linking afforestation directly to household incomes, it enables local communities to regenerate their livelihoods sustainably over the long term.

A Group‑wide Culture of Annual Tree‑Planting

While nationwide afforestation underpins BRG’s corporate social responsibility, sustainability has also been institutionalised within the Group’s own ecosystem through an annual Tree‑Planting Festival held each spring.

Tree‑planting activities are carried out regularly across the Group’s member companies, spanning its network of golf courses, hotels, and international tourism complexes. In early spring 2026 (the Year of the Horse), more than 20,000 trees were planted, clear evidence of the increasingly robust implementation of ESG strategies throughout the BRG ecosystem.
