Hà Nội, March 27, 2026 – As part of his official visit to Vietnam, Mr. Luke J. Lindberg, Deputy Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), attended the California Prune Festival at Thủy Tạ Gourmet & Café and conducted an on-site tour of Fujimart Supermarket. The series of engagements underscored the deepening bilateral cooperation in high-quality agricultural trade.

The California Prunes Festival 2026 officially opened at Thủy Tạ Gourmet & Café, drawing key representatives from the USDA, the California Prune Board (CPB), and BRG Group.

In her address, Madame Nguyễn Thị Nga, Chairwoman of BRG Group, emphasised that the group’s extensive nationwide service and commercial ecosystem offers a strategic advantage in bringing premium products such as California prunes closer to Vietnamese consumers. She also expressed her expectation that U.S. partners would continue to introduce supportive logistics and transportation policies to help optimise costs and expand market access with more competitive pricing in Vietnam.

Deputy Under Secretary Luke J. Lindberg commended the joint efforts of BRG Group and the California Prune Board, expressing strong confidence that high-quality U.S. agricultural products will continue to gain traction in Vietnam, thereby fostering bilateral trade and deepening the partnership between the two countries.

The delegation's experience was highlighted by the tasting of prune gelato and prune-infused tea. These creations, skillfully prepared by Thủy Tạ Gourmet & Café, showcased a refined fusion of premium U.S. ingredients and contemporary culinary techniques tailored to Vietnamese tastes.
As part of the program, Mr. Lindberg and his delegation also visited Fujimart supermarket, a representative retail chain distributing a wide range of high-quality agricultural and food products directly imported from the United States.

During the visit, the delegation explored dedicated display areas showcasing the diversity and quality of U.S. agricultural offerings, from fresh Washington apples to processed products such as U.S. pork and SPAM canned meat, all meeting stringent food safety and traceability standards.

U.S. pork and SPAM products were also prepared on-site into dishes suited to Vietnamese palates. Mr. Lindberg sampled the dishes and expressed his appreciation for the culinary fusion between the two countries.

A representative from Fujimart reaffirmed the retailer’s commitment to serving as a trusted bridge, strictly upholding quality standards while intensifying communications and trade promotion efforts to bring more U.S. products to Vietnamese consumers.
The March 25 event series stands as a compelling testament to BRG Group’s scale and capacity in fostering international partnerships, particularly in agriculture and retail, contributing to enhanced living standards in Vietnam while further advancing Vietnam - U.S. economic and trade relations.
