BRG Group’s 1.1 Million Tree Journey Toward Strategic Afforestation as a Core Pillar of Net Zero Commitment
Launching a nationwide initiative in 2019, BRG Group and its member companies set an ambitious target to plant and donate one million trees by 2028. Demonstrating exceptional execution and a deep-seated commitment to environmental stewardship, the program surpassed its goal ahead of schedule, with nearly 1.1 million trees planted by early 2026. This milestone underscores BRG's role as a pioneering, internationally integrated corporation that harmonises economic growth with ecological and national responsibility, making a tangible contribution to Vietnam's Net Zero emissions target by 2050.
Greening Hundreds of Thousands of Hectares,
Timely Action and Long-Term Vision
BRG's greening journey has left a verdant mark across Vietnam, from the northern mountainous provinces and disaster-prone North Central coast to the Central Highlands and the fertile Mekong Delta. In every locality, the program is strategically aligned with the dual objectives of ecosystem restoration and the development of sustainable livelihoods for local communities.
Rather than pursuing greening efforts as a symbolic initiative, BRG has adopted a systematic development model: planting trees in connection with restoring production forests, improving living environments, and generating sustainable sources of income for local residents.
Greening Linked to Community Livelihoods – A Sustainable Approach
Under the visionary leadership of Madame Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Nga, BRG Group's tree-planting initiatives are driven by a long-term perspective, tailored to the practical needs of each locality.
The expansive program of tree planting and donation, spanning provinces such as Lao Cai, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Dak Lak, and Long An, is guided by a consistent principle: every initiative is designed in harmony with the unique ecological characteristics and socio-economic conditions of its region.
The careful selection of forestry species, including acacia, cinnamon, melaleuca, eucalyptus, and various native trees, ensures robust growth and adaptability while creating stable economic value for local people. This success is driven by close collaboration with local authorities and organisations. This approach fosters a sustainable development cycle: forest restoration, livelihood creation, and timely resource regeneration, empowering communities to develop proactively over the long term.
For instance, in the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi, BRG Group partnered with Nhan Dan Newspaper to plant 68,000 cinnamon trees in Lang Nu Hamlet and other areas of Lao Cai province ravaged by flash floods, directly aiding in the restoration of production forests and the gradual rebuilding of local livelihoods.
The BRG Ecosystem
Embedding Green Standards from Within
Beyond its community-focused programs, BRG has woven stringent "green" criteria into the operational fabric of its entire ecosystem.

At its golf courses and tourism-resort projects, BRG Group maintains greening activities on the scale of hundreds of thousands of trees annually. A "Tree Planting Festival" is organised every year across member companies, from golf course systems and hotels to tourism destinations. During the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026 alone, more than 20,000 trees were planted throughout the ecosystem.
These activities are not fleeting campaign-driven gestures but are integrated into operational standards, becoming a cornerstone of the Group's corporate culture and long-term development strategy.

BRG Golf Courses – Where Championship Golf Meets Ecological Stewardship
Within the BRG ecosystem, its world-class golf courses are meticulously planned as ecological spaces.
The projects are designed on a philosophy of respecting nature, preserving original terrain and native landscapes. Water systems, grasslands, and green spaces are carefully integrated as an open ecosystem, contributing to microclimate regulation and enhancing biodiversity.
The implementation of environmentally friendly water management and maintenance processes optimises resource use while minimising impacts on surrounding ecosystems. These spaces serve as expansive "green lungs," playing an important role in maintaining the local environmental balance.
Reinforcing a Pioneering Role in Sustainable Development
As Vietnam accelerates its green transition and commitment to achieve Net Zero by 2050, BRG Group's comprehensive efforts demonstrate the pioneering role of the private sector in supporting national development goals.
BRG's ESG strategy is implemented in a practical, measurable manner, with a clear focus on long-term effectiveness. From large-scale afforestation and ecological restoration to green operations across its entire business ecosystem, every step is designed to create sustainable value for society.
Through these dedicated efforts, BRG Group continues to affirm its position as one of Vietnam's leading multi-sector service and economic corporations, a pioneer in international integration that brings global standards to Vietnam, pursues sustainable development alongside national responsibility, and makes meaningful contributions to the country's socio-economic and environmental aspirations.
